We were told we could get the veteran's discount if we brought in a DD214 or another form of military ID. They wew decent the 1st time and gave us the discount based on the ID he had.

We returned to purchased roofing and requested our discount and was refused due to the fact it was not acceptable identification to get a discount. It would have been less than $100 and still would not allow it based on the improper ID. I would suggest all Veteran's go to Lowes where they will accept it and treat their veteran's with more respect.

My husband put his life on the line so they could have the freedom they have and was very upset and felt as if he was slapped in the face. How disrespectful!

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $62.

Location: Salem, Oregon

Lowes gives a military discount every day and makes it easy. We give them all out bushes now after Home Depot ridiculed my husband and accused him of printing a phoney ID. Horrible!

I feel sorry for all the vets out there that enlisted and were expecting retail stores to fall all over themselves offering them discounts. I appreciate your service to our country but retail stores don't owe you a discount.

Appreciate it when you get one but don't bad mouth stores when you don't get one. Take some time and review your enlistment and discharge papers and you won't find discounts at retail stores as part of your benefits.
