I had the same experience regarding cabinet fronts, etc. Quote was astronomical.

Agent kept lowering prices until i DEMANDED he leave and never call or come back. This kind of business is in my opinion.... criminal. And no one sues them or no law is passed to protect customers.

Home Depot, Lowes, and state legislators are all crooks. Businesses do their best to screw over customers.

We purchased this carpet on August 28, 2017 and bought the best prime carpet pad per what home depot told us for this carpet This carpet is already breaking down we have multiple fibers working up all over the three rooms we had home depot install and "we do have pets" and have dirt that won't come up, per the manufactures warranty we have the carpet professional clean using the hot water extraction that was on the warranty. This carpet sucks and home depot won't stand by the warranty cause they said we have cats "hello pet proof" not.....they told us because we have a cat scratcher tree that they won't warranty the carpet....a cat would tear it up in one place not a strand here and there....we replaced a 18 yer old carpet that was in better shape then this two year old carpet Not happy at all. Home deport won't help

I did a rebate online for mine as well. I called the number online and was told it was sent to the email I provided.

I checked and nothing.

I’ve tried to call them back and the system now apparently recognizes your phone number so it won’t let me talk to a representative again. This is fraud!!!

We had the same problem with Home Depot on a bath remodel. They caused a leak which rotted out our sub floor we had mold from it.

They tore the bathroom out twice and then laid my ceramic tile over the rotten subfloor. We were left with an unfinished bathroom this has gone on 4 years. Citibank does not stand behind credit card customers. They are all for Home Depot.

They made us sign a form releasing them from damages or they would not repair anything. They never came back and fixed it

November 2019 I go to HD Stroudsburg PA to return 5 cases of damaged flooring from a pallet of 56 cases I ordered and received in September. My online order confirmation says returning is simple, HD website says no problems for returning.

I even stopped in the store in August to make sure I can return cases there from my pallet order and they confirm yes. I bring the 5 cases in and they don’t want to do it since the online order was for a pallet. Eventually they ring up the 5 cases after they talk to Mike the manager. But when taking my drivers license and processing the return, the transaction is denied.

The associate ONLY mentions that I must be making too many returns. Since that’s not the case, we get Mike the Manager to come over. I’d like to point out that in my career I blame the PROCESS, not the PERSON when a company screws up. I know Mike the Manager doesn’t wake up and say “Today I’m going to demonstrate that Home Depot as a company has a small mind and no compassion” so there must be an underlying process issue for his actions that followed.

He says “I see your receipt”, “Your ID is flagged, there’s a number you can call.” I say great, let’s get on a conference call right now and see what’s going on. Mike the manager refused saying “They need to speak to YOU, not ME.” Mike (or HD’s process) is adept at escalating a situation and blaming the customer, but not skilled in considering various reasons for transaction denial or solutions. Mike says “We tried to help” as he stormed off and said “Your id was flagged, try using your wife’s id” loud enough for other customers to hear. When I spoke with The Retail Equation (the 3rd party that approves/denies claims for HD and other stores) the next morning, they confirmed that the reason for the transaction being denied was HD didn’t mark that there was a receipt and also they used a generic sku instead of the sku on the order.

Nothing to do with my return history (1 return in 2017 for $32). They mention the HD store should have called them to get it resolved and re-processed at the time of denial. It’s too bad the process is having a system that is sold to HD to stop customer fraud so that’s all the employees think - but it also simply flags transactions that don’t fit into it’s algorithm (returning cases from a pallet that was ordered). I called HD headquarters and they said I absolutely should be able to return them and they are working with me now so far.

One of the customer service associates at the store astutely pointed out that I got a discount by ordering a pallet so if they would give me money back for each case the company would be losing money. I mentioned we can figure the discount out. I saved $1.63 per case – so I guess one scenario is that I’m “gaming the system” for $8 haha. I don’t care if they take $2 off per case, or $7 off per case, I just want to return my damaged flooring.

When I got tile at this Stroudsburg store a couple years ago they messed up each step of the project until I cancelled it after they delivered the wrong tile. They didn’t want to do any refund until I got Tasha the Stroudsburg manager on a call with HD headquarters. She didn’t apologize but said she’d refund the $75 delivery fee. But when she did – she didn’t take that $75 off the delivery line – she took it off the TILE order.

So if I paid $1,000 for the tile – when I returned it I got $925 back for it. I noticed that before I returned it and they said since I noticed it they’ll correct it when I return it. But of course they didn’t honor that – so that is HD making money off of their mistake, and they keep doing it. HD is begging for yet another class action suit against them.

At least in November 2019 the associate who was handling my transaction said she was sorry. That’s not in HD Stroudsburg PA’s list of authorized actions for managers though, apparently.
