Home Depot - Problems Redeeming Rebate on Behr Paint
I purchased paint on 2 separate occasions in June of 2014 from Home Depot ONLY because of a promo that was on for a rebate. I submitted the rebate online the same day and weeks later I was denied.
I called the Home Depot Rebate office for an explanation and I was told I didn't upload the receipts in the proper order or something. She then DIRECTED me to photocopy both receipts on one page and upload just one page. I did as directed, waited another month and was denied again just yesterday. I called back for another explanation and I was now told I'm not supposed to photocopy the receipts on one page.
(I wonder where I came up with that plan). So now that the promo due date has expired I was told I have to mail via post my receipts with a letter indicating my contact information and my latest rebate code. I specifically asked the rep if I needed a form or anything else to go along with this. Nope, she said just my latest DENIED rebate code.
While on the site this morning to obtain the mailing address I see that I'm supposed to mail a promo code number on the envelope which I'm supposed to obtain from the paper form I should have got had I chose to mail it in AND the post mark of the envelope has to be before a certain date (which has now obviously passed) to be eligible.. I'm so very unimpressed with this. They took months to deny me otherwise I wouldn't now be stuck without my money still and wasting my time trying to figure out how I'm supposed to mail in my rebate when they've stated the post mark has to be before a certain date! In my opinion this was all a scam to buy their paint.
They probably figure 90% of people wouldn't bother with this joke of a process to obtain their discount.
Monetary Loss: $40.

I have had a very similar experience to one of the comments I read. I sure have gotten the run around.
So far I havenโt received $30.00 in rebates owed me for Behr Paint. It has been months of trying to submit and resubmit it the information Home Depot has requested to no avail.I get different CSRโs every time I try to contact them , via phone! I donโt get the same answer twice . I suggested to a supervisor that I spoke to that a customer service representativeโs all be trained with accurate information.
I have no clue what or how Home Depot handles the rebates since I have gotten different answers from different people . Since we have only used Behr paint for years, I guess itโs time to switch to a company that handles business in a professional manner.
After the rooms weโre painting are completed I will no longer go to Home Depot, Iโll try Lowes instead and hope customer relations is better there . I am one very disgruntled customer, but not for long !
I too have not gotten the $70 rebate for behr paint. Won't be patronizing either business again.
Same here. Seems they want you to buy their product but do not stand behind the rebate portion. Eventually someone will sue.
I mailed a rebate back in July for a $40.00 rebate and haven't received it, I did a tracking on it and it said no rebates. Very pissed, need to send another one but afraid I won't get that too. Not happy,
I also am still waiting on my behr paint rebate through Home Depot. I submitted in late May; here it is almost sept.
& no rebate.
When I check online it says rebate issued. What a joke & scam
Rebate from home depot is a joke. Sent in 2 times.
Denied both times.
Remodeled 2 bathrooms, never got the money for rebates. From now on lowes and menards.
Hours spent and hugh headaches not worth the rebates Home Depot offers, especially if you never get the rebate
I recently made purchases at Lowes which made me eligible for their 11% rebates. I did this on 5 different purchases and applies online.
I received the (email) rebates within a week and a rebate card on one purchase that took a couple of weeks.
Unfortunately my experience with the $10.00 per can Behr rebate through Home Depot has been an entirely different story. I submitted it through the internet using what appeared to be the same service provider that Lowes uses for their rebates. The system accepted all my information without error.
It is going on 4 weeks now and I still do not have my rebate.
My son also purchased some paint and is still waiting for his rebate. The Behr rebate is useless if you never receive it, and this experience make me want to shop at Lowes more often for their 11% rebate deals which include all purchases not just Behr paint.
the rebate is a joke
2 yrs ago I spent 2 hrs trying to get a rebate(even had asst store mgr try to help). Finally after 6 wks I got my money.
Now, today bought again. Can't even find how to submit for rebate on line.Site even said my sale doesn't exist yet I'm holding a rebate receipt.
I just tried to email an e-bate and it was a chore, not worth the hassle as home depot is counting on most to just pass it off. in the future I will not buy into any rebate "Scams"...
I am done with them and with these big box hoods... shopping local
Just another scam, bought a gallon of behr deck over. rebate tracker said invalid?
spent about hour trying to resolve, no luck. hope behr&home depot lose sales
Yep, happened to me too. Beside the fact that their paint turned out to be very poor quality.
got ripped off too same story i have mailed and faxed receipts and get the same bull
Same just happened to me, received a post card stating "Your purchase cold not be verified by the register receipt information provided; We have not received confirmation of your purchase". What a joke.
Now I am suppose to mail every thing in with this post card. I bought a lot of paint and will return all of them if they don't give me the rebates.
take your paint back to home depot and contact consumer fraud division of your states attorney generals office ! This is a major fraud on home depots part !
Just had the same situation, they could not confirm receipt info, this is a huge scam to get people to just say the *** with it and not claim the money.
Same here. Loaded my information online for the rebate during the July 4th promotion. Just received a card in the mail stating that I have until 9-8....six days to mail a resubmitted offer.
Big scam to get consumers to buy their paint.
Yep this is clearley a scam ,2 of my friends also fell victim to it.... I actually called the HD rebate help line and got an answering machine of some barley english speaking Nigerian man ...
What a joke !! Everyone should file a complaint with the better buisness bureau and boycot Behr and Home Depot.
Just received my denial today, August 25, 2014. I completed the rebate form online.
"We have not received confirmation of your sales data. Your BEHR purchase could not be verified by the receipt information provided." Maybe Home Depot and BEHR are not sharing the proper information from the receipts?
What customer wants to spend hours on the phone and debate with Costumer Service for 2 companies...? I'm done with rebate scams.
