So it has been over 6 weeks now and I just got the full denial of any responsibility from Home Depot's executive leadership team. It is insane that they can find no fault when there is water coming from a washing machine less than 18 hours after they installed it. Please everyone start a boycott of Home Depot as they clearly don't care about just 1 customer so time to make this a wider customer issue.

3 weeks ago I purchased a washing machine from Home Depot. Little did I know that Home Depot farms their installation out to Temco. Temco's installers did not connect the water hose properly to the washer which resulted in 1 inch of water all over the first floor of my condo by the next morning, less than 18 hrs after they installed the washer. I filed a claim with Home Depot which they farmed out to Temco as the installer. Temco has denied my claim as I don't have 'in the moment footage of the leak" and "tampered" with the connection before they could see it and therefore cannot prove it is their installers fault (ie. first instinct was not to take a photo but to try to stop the water leak and further flooding of my house and getting to my neighbor's house as I live in a condo). This is insane since I never had water in my house before they came and the water was coming from the washer hose!

Home Depot & Temco have been absolutely useless in this process and are taking no responsibility to solve this or take liability for the issue. If Home Depot farms their deliveries out to a 3rd party that is not the consumer's issue and Home Depot should be claiming liability for their subcontractors work and customers should not have to be dealing with their subcontractors who they did not purchase from.

I have over $50K in damages to my home (walls had to be torn out, kitchen cabinets torn out, tiles damaged, all appliances removed) and cannot live in my house properly with no appliances. Over 3 weeks since the incident and I am no closer to a resolution and nothing has been done to get my home back in order.

So note to consumers, buyer beware if you ever purchase anything from Home Depot, they do not know what they are doing for a simple washing machine install and good luck getting them to help you or take liability for any issues they, or their subcontractors, cause. And even if your house is flooding, take pictures and videos "in the moment" or you too could be stuck in this type of nightmare.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $55000.

Preferred solution: full fixing of the damage to my home.

Home Depot Cons: Slow fix to major problem.

Location: Tampa, Florida

Since you paid Home Depot, they should pay you. They are then free to pursue subrogation against the perpetrator of the incident - either the installer goofed up as you postulated or a defective connector (which is what happened to us) was present.

That business of attempting to pass the onus of collection to you is miserable and Home Depot should be ashamed of themselves. I'm usually a troll around here but in this case I believe you are perfectly correct.
