On Sept 3 we bought a dishwasher from Home Depot in Warwick, RI and paid $657.00. We had to wait until Sept 17 for delivery.

Two days later our highly reputable electrician came to install (and remove old one). After taking the new Whirlpool dishwasher out of the box,he said the bottom coil where the water flows through was bent He said he would not install because the water would not flow. He said it looked like a forklift damage. We called Home Depot and spoke with the store manager Paul Samos.

Our electrician also spoke with Paul Samos and told him why the dishwasher was completely defective. Paul Samos agreed, and ordered a new dishwasher for us, scheduled for Oct 2 delivery and said we were entitled to compensation. He said he would credit our visa for $150 for the inconvenience and for having our electrician come out. On Oct 2, (almost a month after original purchase) we called store to check time of delivery.

Julia told us there was NO record of a new order, but they would send someone to fix the defective one. Paul never returned any of our calls, no one would help us or honor Paul Samos's promise. SO we brought the defective dishwasher back, and are still waiting for the credit to our visa. Went to Wickford Appliance, SAME dishwasher was $599, FREE istallation and delivery & install in 4 DAYS.

They care - Home Depot does not!

WILL NEVER GO TO HOME DEPOT AGAIN. NO ONE SHOULD.

Reason of review: Damaged or defective.

Monetary Loss: $150.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

Home Depot Cons: Promises not kept.

you didn't lose $150 you just didn't receive the money you claim he offered you in compensation. since you ended up returning the unit you were no longer entitled to the $150 anyways.
