I bought a full kitchen appliance set for about $5,000 (Samsung refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave). Also paid almost about $400 for a five-year protection plan on the dishwasher and refrigerator.
After a year and a half, the dishwasher stops working. Filed a claim with the Home Depot Protection plan. They denied it, saying we only had the warranty on the refrigerator and range; even though the two plan amounts ($700-$999, and $1200-$9,999) only fit the dishwasher ($800) and refrigerator ($2500). None of the paperwork they gave us had any code or label that specified which appliance the plan covered but I remember having the conversation that the only thing we have ever had break on us was a dishwasher and refrigerator, so we declined getting the range or microwave covered.
The store actually agreed with us that the plan fit only the dishwasher and fridge but the third party that HD uses to administer their plan won't honor it. It has been over a month and the store keeps giving us the run around and I now have an $800 dish drying rack...
