We have used and enjoyed Home Depot from Western Canada through Western USA and for the past 10 years in BCS.Overall Home Depot has provided us with good tools, garden supplies and a lot of material for building.

Recently we have put in several propane on demand water heaters. We have had a run of bad luck with them. The return policy in Cabo San Lucas is horrific. We were told when we buy a heater we have 60 days to return it and we can get our money back.

Over 60 days a repair man will come to our house and repair it. This is not the case. We tried to return two on demand heaters. The manager in the store in Cabo was rude, ignorant, doesn't speak English and refused to give us a refund.

Conversation had to be conducted through an interpreter. The store who caters to American and Canadian expats and tourist plus home owners should have bilingual people in key management positions. Rafael, one manager who simply smirked at us and was adamant we used the heater one day, and as it did not work properly, he still refused to give us credit. Customer service is key to running a business.

That Cabo store lacks customer service. It is non existent. We will always try to buy simular products from Cabo Costco. They know how to treat customers.

If we have to deal at a Home Depot it will not be at Cabo San Lucas, BCS.

We have been lied to, and very disappointed in the lack of care or concern of the staff.Yours truly, Arlene Butler

I would expect that if you returned the water heater in new condition you would get your money back. It's no good to anybody after you have used it.

With the expensive water heaters I expect the manufacture doesn't just take them back without knowing they are actually defective. It may well be that you aren't hooking them up properly and that isn't their fault. On demand heaters use a lot more gas when burning than a regular heater and require larger pipe than a regular water heater. That's why they want a service person to look at them.

If they are actually defective the will fix them or if necessary replace them.If they were not installed properly they will let you know and either charge you to fix your error or let you find someone else to correct the problem.
