Home Depot - 5-Piece Tub Surround can't seal
Installed this in multiple bathrooms at the same time, after the first installation of the seals didn't take, tested multiple sealants on untouched seam and sanded seam areas and still had no luck... everything rubs off with a gentle finger rub. Was thinking of emailing their customer support, but might just abandon the whole project and start from scratch. All the positive reviews I've seen online only pertain to the ease of installation (which was relatively easy), but none of them were from after any use or cleaning (which will destroy any/all seals). All the negative reviews I've seen have gone back to clean or check the sealant and have had the same problem.

Proper installation using an adhesive sealant behind the flange with completely eliminate this situation, I have install many of these and have never had a customer complaint.
Serious question, have you gone back to look at any of your previous installations? We had previously installed this surround in another unit years ago, went back for a different plumbing issue, looked, and all the seals were separated as shown above. No leaks into a lower unit, but no complaints by the user either.
did you clean with alcohol first, Im sure it says that on the instructions
Instructions didn't say to clean with anything. Did test areas cleaning with lighter fluid, amonia, those plus sanding, different sealant products... I'm talking throwing everything we can think of at the problem, waiting weeks, and still having nothing sticking.
