Sold Defective LG washer

BEWARE. Do not buy a major appliance from Home Depot. They will not stand behind what they sell. Once you purchase, you must deal with the manufacturer even if they sell you a defective product. We bought an LG washer and it was delivered and installed at 8:30p.m. on March 7th. It was late so did not use it that night and was out of town the next day. After work on Monday the 9th, we washed a load of clothes or attempted to. The machine sounded like it was banging against the wall, leaked water from inside the machine and then stopped working after about 5 minutes with an error message. Called Home Depot but they refuse to do anything because it was over 48 hours,. They said it would be an issue I would have to take up with LG. I bought the machine from home Depot, not LG. Obviously the machine is defective and should be replaced. LG finally sent someone out on the 30th. They spent 3 hours tearing It apart and putting it back together. Said they got it fixed and left. Tried washing a load of clothes, it still stopped after about 5 minutes with an error message. Still unusable. Called LG immediately but they could not do anything because the tech had not entered his info into their computer yet. They were supposed to call me back. Today is Thursday and still have not heard from anyone. Called Home Depot again on Tuesday the 31st and they were also supposed to have someone call me with 24 to 48 hours. Today is Thursday the 2nd at 3:00 p.m. and still no one has called back from Home Depot either. Very poor customer service. Not a professional way to handle something like this. It is unacceptable that I bought a washer less than 4 weeks ago and it has been completely unusable and we have to go to a public Laundromat to do our laundry

You shouldn't make assumptions when you order products for delivery. My guess is that your delivery order is for curbside delivery which means off the truck at the curb.

Delivery into your home is at a higher price. You should be thankful the driver helped you get the material inside.

Customer Support

I called the credit card company customer support twice. Both times I was told that they would not be assisting customers to defer payments during this pandemic. This is the only company that I am aware of that is not working with the consumers that have supported their business to address this uncertain time. Consumers are struggling to make ends meet and are looking for relief from companies while they are laid off or unemployed due to this unprecedented time. After I pay off what I owe, I will think twice about frequenting their business in the future.

User's recommendation: Be ware if you put any purchase on credit.

You should never borrow what you can't pay back. You should concentrate on building up some savings for emergencies before you start borrowing money. Anyone who has a proper cushion should be able to make at least their minimum payments until they get their enhanced unemployment checks and their $1200 gift from the government.

Does not deliver on time in fact it was 3 days later

I bought a lawn mower from home depot, on 3/30/2020 they said the delivery date is on 4/3/2020, that's the only reason I bought it, on the 4/2/2020 I received a text that it just shipped and I would possible receive it on the 4/6/2020. I could have bought on from anywhere else and received it by the 4/6/2020. false advertising. It took 35 min. on hold to speak to anyone, then nothing than a song and dance.

User's recommendation: do not order from home depot on line.

With everything that is happening with the virus you should be happy that you can go out and purchase a lawnmower and have it delivered at all. Is 3 days really going to make a difference in your life?

Customer Service

Rented a tool from Home Depot. Took turned out to not work and was helped by Brian, who works in the tool rental department of the store on Cypress Rosehill in Cypress, Texas. Home Depot should be proud to have an employee that takes his time out to listen and help with problems. I want to commend Brian for his help in resolving my problem.

I requesting credit

I purchased PVC pipes 1 large 1/2 and clamps. I tried to return because they were not needed for the work being done.Plus I was over charged during the transaction.I was treated with total disrespect. I was refunded my money, following the Manager involvement. CS wanted refund $77.00 to $40.00. The Manager refund most of the money except the $16.00. PVC Pipe. Then he stated I was not trying to rip them off by $ 30.00. When I was in fact over double charged. I would like my refund gift card to purchase something else. Thanks, Miss. We have your money, now go away

Ordered a refrigerator from Home Depot. It arrived, then the fun began. In the text below, “liability issue” means “we're too damn lazy to do it”. Also, I am handicapped and doing the installation myself would be impossible. 1. Two people sent; one carried the new refrigerator in and left it sitting in the middle of the kitchen. 2. Installer looks behind old refrigerator and sees aluminum piping for water supply. Immediately says “we can't touch copper — it's a “liability issue”” (see above). 3. I ask if they can make an exception — it's only turning one valve off and the line is aluminum, not copper. 4. “We can't touch copper — it's a liability issue.” 5. “But it's aluminum.” 6. “We can't touch water — it's a liability issue.” 7. “Can I sign a liability waver?” “No” 8. “So you won't touch an inline valve and resolve this?” 9. “We can't touch water — it's a liability issue.” Ok, game over about the water. “Can I leave the new refrigerator in place?” Installer waves 3-foot cable and says there is nowhere to connect it. “How about an extension cord and I'll work out the water issue later?” 10. “We won't use an extension cord — it's a liability issue.” Installer literally walks out at this point. Home Depot knew I was handicapped and agreed that they would help. I now have two dead refrigerators and still no cold storage. If I had known that water (Home Depot and I discussed this) and power would be problems, I would have shopped at Lowe's.

User's recommendation: Forget Home Depot.

Then why are they sent, if all they're going to do is mule refrigerators around? If they are not plumbers or electricians, why are they being sent?

How about hiring a contractor who has experience with plumbing and electricity and sending them along with the guys who lift refrigerators? Or, better yet, have them come out the day before and do a quick site survey? I'd be willing to pay for a couple of hours from someone who IS a plumber or electrician.

Funny how Lowe's has a business for helping consumers with a home improvement project. I've contacted them - and that sound you hear is them eating your lunch.

#1843610

It has nothing to do with being lazy. The delivery people,le are not plumbers or electricians.

If you had a 1/4" metal tube (copper or aluminum) It could be a liability for them to connect the new refrigerator. This material is easy to bend and kink causing a lack of water that you would want them to fix. Building codes typically don't allow the use of an extension cord on a refrigerator. As the delivery people aren't contractors the are not able to wire a new outlet for you.

As a consumer you need to know what you have for outlets and water supply. If you are unable to determine this due to your handicap you should get an able bodied friend to check these things out for you.

If you are going to complain about a product you might want to say what it is. We can assume it is a washing machine but that is about all.

Who made it, what model, is it a top or front loader? Newer machine use less water and may need to be loaded differently or you may need to use different cycles than an older machine.

The big thing is not to overload them. The laundry needs to be able to move within the machine.

Irritated

We were told my the salesman that we would be eligible for 11% rebate. We filed all the information and for a tracking number. We have been waiting for our card. Today I chatted online with rebate center and told our purchase didnt qualify after waiting 6 weeks. Very disappointed and will have to rethink supporting a place that doesnt know if a purchase qualifies when all of menards purchases do. Wow

When you filled out the rebate for did you bother looking at all the things that don't qualify?

Where exactly is that information? Because I chatted with the THD rebate center and they wouldn’t give the exclusion list.

Trying to make a purchase

actually nothing happened - that is the problem. Three times I have been to the McKenzie/Shelbourne store and 3 times I could receive NO help. When I asked at customer service how to open an account, she sent me to find a cashier - I found one and he knew nothing about how to open an account. You have a lot of smiling faces walking around, but unfortunately none of them want to help the customers. They are too busy complaining about their job.

User's recommendation: shop somewhere else.

What other big box stores have you seen close? Don't go out and shop if you don't need to.

If you do, use common sense and don't get to close to others, wash your hands and use hand sanitizer. We survived H1N1 and we will survive this one as well.
