Details
The product repair was requested on July 31st, a gentleman came very quickly August 2nd. He did not have the part on his truck, so ordered it to my home. It did not come in the 3-5 business days, I called in and it seems he ordered it to the wrong place... The gentlemen is now scheduled to come back on the 16th of august to repair it... I wish i never purchased this plan, 17 days for a washing machine repair is ridiculous if i could have just spent the same amount of money on a repair man, rather than the policy, it would not have taken such a long and protracted period as it did. Home depot helped in no way, nor afforded any remuneration for the excessively long wait time.

Why are you expecting a retail store to be involved with the manufacturers warranty. If you had bothered to read the warranty you would have seen that you are to contact Maytag. Your complaint if any should be with Maytag not Home Depot.

Have you taken time to read the service ice plan contract you have? Typically the cover repairs to the appliance.

Does it say anywhere in their agreement with you that they will replace the appliance because of an odor?

If it does, take them to small claims court. If not, quit complaining as it isn't something they are required to do.

Receipts are the key to an easy return. Put yourself in the place of the retailer.

The only people that don't receive a receipt when they leave your store with a product are shoplifters. Everyone else should have a receipt to make a return with. Sure you give some grace for those who lost or for some other reason don't have one but you have your limits. At some point you will say enough is enough and limit what can be returned without a receipt.

You obviously pushed their limit. Keep your receipts and use them for returns.

Details
Incompetent store manager involving carpet install. First install done incorrectly. Second install the carpet was faulty. They insisted that the try to install a third time and still could not install due to faulty carpet. This took 9 months to resolve and now they still want me to pay for carpet pad that they did not pick up when the took away the faulty carpet. Manager rude. Customer service and Home Depot credit no help. Avoid doing business with Home Depot.

Rebate cards did work, but only at home depot

the home depot employee helped me with the cards, and even though he said they should have worked anywhere they only worked there. i'm just glad to be able to use them. wish rebate would have come as a check so i could have used it anywhere.

To Impartial Neopolitan, I now know it doesn't work that way which is why when I shop I will verify as to what type of guarantee the store provides. When they use the warranty as a selling point they should ensure that the service will be provided in a reasonable delay and with the minimum of administrative red tape. HomeDepot should review its' relationship with RYOBI.
