No military discount on "home improvement" items
Just left one of the stores in Pensacola. Was buying downspout spout extenders and screen inserts to go in the downspout exit ports.
Was told that there is no military discount on these as they are home improvement items. The cashier could not explain why, he had just noticed recently that items were being blocked in the computer. I have enjoyed shopping at Home Depot in the past and appreciated the discounts they offered, especially when I had several small repair projects. Now these items would be classified as home improvement items and no discount.
Guess I won't be shopping there any more. Seems like they are just shooting themselves in the foot, especially in this military town.

I was a professional painter for roughly twenty years. I can tell you that one-coat painting is a myth - regardless of which colour is being painted with or painted over.
For one-coat coverage to even be possible, a person would have to maintain computer perfect pressure on the roller such that the consistency would be perfect. Impossible.
As far as one colour covering another, it is helpful to understand that yellows and reds are made with clear colorant - there is no substance to the colorants, especially now that they are VOC free. It is very typical that yellows and reds will take three coats, even with a modern paint.
The best paint for reds is CIL DUO.
The best paint for yellows is prayer. BEHR paint is pretty good with yellows, and Benjamin Moore/Sherwin Williams have contractor grade paints (not the Aura etc.) that can give you good coverage.
Remember, the quality of a paint job has a lot to do with the painter and the tools. You spent a lot of money on the Marquee paint, so I am hoping you bought something like Purdy roller sleeves and brushes as well.
There is a bigger picture here.
And, when you ask an associate in a store for advice, also ask them where they learned about the product. If they have no actual painting experience, why are you asking them in the first place?
