Funny thing...install services are third party contractors hired by Home Depot. Home Depot does NOT have in-store installers. No one from the store will come to your house to do an install.

Guest

What stripped screws are you talking about? Were you expecting them to remove an old microwave before they installed the microwave they were delivering?

If this is the case, how is it their fault that whoever installed the last microwave ruined the screws? It's people like you that expect them to take time and fix problems that they shouldn't have to deal with that throw delivery schedules off for the rest of the day.

Sloppy installation and service on appliances

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased 4 kitchen appliances in March of '18. Also purchased deli very and installation. Microwave didn't work at all. Range was installed too high and juts out 5" into the room due to a device I was told was required so if I ever climbed on the range, I wouldn't tip it over. I'm 80 and not inclined to climb on ranges. Recipes I have used for 55 years on several dozen different ranges (I am a Home Economist) now do not bake even when temp is increased by 50 degrees and left in double the time. I was told that I didn't know how to bake. Service calls and was told the temp is correct and that the previous 2 down ranges were all wrong. And charged me for the call. Now I use only the convection oven and it approaches the correct temp and time as conventional ovens always did. So the conventional oven usage is kaput. Refrigerator also juts out from the wall - 6". It's a counter depth fridge costing considerably more than normal depth - but extends into the room. A little button extending off the back of the inside wall snapped off after a few months. It was to support a shelf. Customer service asked for model and serial numbers and proof of purchase and it was ignored. Twice. Dish washer was "installed" by Home Depot's Spirit. It is now freestanding. Installer put plastic caps over the screw holes that were designed to stabilize the washer - but didn't put in any screws. My installation manual specifies that the drain hose be properly installed or there'd be problems. It was not installed as advised. And today, after months of negotiating with Home Depot, Spirt was to arrive and do the job they were paid to do. And, you guessed it, No Show! Remember the names - Samsung, Spirit, Home Depot.

Discrimination

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My pregnant fiance has worked at home depot in Washington county st. George utah, store number 4412 for 3 +years with no problem but now since she got pregnant and since one assistant manager there named Anna Bojorquez decided and actually said that my fiance dont deserve maternity leave on more than one occasion, it came as no surprise when she finally got her fired, with no proof of anything she claims my fiance who is the most honest person ever who never broke a law or rule but she claims she did time clock fraud ...

but you have no proof you go over the actual store managers head to h.r. with a bogus claim all because you dont like her or your jealous or whatever real reason . We did file an official complaint with utah labor commission and it is now a waiting game of up to a year. Meanwhile she is all nice and secure in her job and life.

This is the second pregnant person in about a year to be fired from that exact home depot, this is a real case of am innocent person being discriminated against. I think people should know

When a pregnant woman is discriminated against for being pregnant and there is proof i believe carma becomes a business... no longer something you have to wait for to right itself but something you are completely justified in taking action to right it yourself. There are few other situations that fall into this same category for me, one being sex offenders they can also have revenge exacted, with no remorse or repercussions needed

Your* Still hiding, still annoying, still a snow flake, still anonymous, and your still a puke , i guess you cant have kids , and that is a very good thing they probably sterilized you just to make sure you cant reproduce, who knows or you really think there are to many people in the world which is a brained washed misconception but if you really believe that you can always kill yourself and make room for someone worth while.

You serve at the pleasure of management and can be terminated at any time unless you have an employment contract. Then you can still be fired but must be paid the balance.

Carpet install, purchase oct 2018 and still not installed

First install was not done correctly in Oct 2018. Removed. Second carpet came in Feb 2019. Carpet installers said they would not be able to match pattern so did not install and took carpet back to store. Home depot wants me to install even though there is a question if it can be installed satisfactorly. They are pressuring me to install. I put order in dispute. I am asking for additional warranty based on the installers concerns. They are reluctant but have sort of agreed to extend to 5 yrs. They want me to take dispute off before install. I want a satisfactory install before I remove the dispute. The threaten me with a 20% restock on a $6660 purchase and also threaten to just dump the carpet off at my house without an install. Not sure how this will be resolved but will never do business with HOME DEPOT again. Suggest that you avoid big purchase with them.

Protection plan SCAM

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I bought an electric oven and paid for a protection plan. The oven has a fan in it and it sounds like it’s going to vibrate into pieces. The electronics that control the temperature and timer are also malfunctioning. I contacted HD Protection Plan in November 2018 it is now February 2019 and still no one has fixed the issues. Home depot protection plan told me they were going to send out a company called Colortronics. I look the company up they are not accredited with the Better Business Bureau, they have a negative score on Angie’s list, and they have a score of one on yelp which is yelps lowest score. Colortronics made appointments with me twice and both times they no showed.

Went to purchase a lawn mower couldn't get anyone to help found three employees in a group talking as if one I f them could help and the reply was be with you in a little bit, I needed help now not 5 min. later when decided to come over.

You fail to say if you waited for help or not. If there were 5 people in a group you were probably looking at one of their set up crews that were there to change out displays or move product.

If one of them eventually came to help you they were more than likely giving instructions to the set up crew as to what to do.

Rather than having 4 people standing around waiting to start their assignment a few minutes were spent by the supervisor finishing the instructions before leaving them. Ideally you would like instant service but you must realize that there are other demands on store employees as well.

First contact Home Depot Credit Services. They may be able to provide an answer as to what is going on.

If they cannot then ask them for the contact information to the bank backing the cedit account. You can also find this contact information on your monthly statement. One potential reason could be inactivity.

Some credit cards will reduce or drop an account if it is not used regularly or at least once a billnig cycle. Just a thought and couple suggestions.

Anonymous Home Depot should make the credit card company treat their customers better . Mr know it all Anonymous .

WHO ELSE BESIDES TROLLS TEND TO BE ANONYMOUS? HMMMMMM BURGLARS, CONVENIENCE STORE ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS, AS WELL AS CERTAIN OTHER KINDS OF OFFENDERS.

THEY REMAIN ANONYMOUS BECAUSE THEIR ACTIONS DON'T STAND THE LIGHT OF DAY. "ANONYMOUS" WOULD NEVER MAKE THOSE RUDE COMMENTS IF HIS OR HER REAL NAME AS WELL AS PHOTO WAS SHOWN NEXT TO THOSE COMMENTS.

Why are you posting as anonymous then?

Guest

Why are you complaining here? Why aren't you complaining on the site for the company that issued your credit card?

You do not have an account with Home Depot. Your account is with an independent credit company.

Have you asked them why they reduced your limit? Perhaps you have opened too many accounts and have more credit exposure than they are interested in.

Does anyone know what they are doing?

I ordered a garage door opener and installation. I was called by a contractor for Homedepot making an appointment to install the opener. No one showed up! I called Homedepot and they gave me the number of their "contractor" for me to solve their problem with their contractor. I was put one hold for more than 30 minutes. They indicated that they probably weren't the contractor and asked me to locate the number of the person who called me and contact them. Why should I do all this work? I did not hire the contractor, homedepot did. Shouldn't they resolve their problem with their contractor? I stayed home for the contractor who never came. I lost a day of work and wasted the entire day. I contacted the store I bought the garage door from and they weren't interested and talked to me in a tone of disdain.

You just gotta love these people. Their own self ignorance make things so amusing.

Guest

What about TransRacial people. People who were born white but who identify themselves as being African American?

Can they use the "N" word to refer to themselves the way alot of Black people do? Can they say "Hey N-----" when they are greeting their black friends????

Zachary2001 Jvs

Would you rather them call her "butthead"?

Guest

What's wrong with you? Sir and Ma'am have been terms of respect for years. It sounds like he used the correct term in calling your "Mother" ma'am as she is obviously a female if she gave birth to you.

Zachary2001 Jvs
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1684141

I don't know. While you have a point.

I get the feeling that the mother may be transgender. Not that there is anything wrong with that. But the issue is that if this is the case the employee does not know that the mother is transgender. She may be wearing a business suit or jeans and a t shirt, but lots of women do that.

So in other words the mother probably identifies herself as male and was offended when he was called maam.

That is what I think. If not this complaint make no sense.

Zachary2001 Jvs
reply icon Replying to comment of Guest-1684141

But still, the employee had no idea that the mother identifies herself as male so this complaint is invalid.

CAPE CORAL, FL CUSTOMER SERVICE

This happened yesterday on 2/23/2019 around 3 pm. The paint department where they mix your paints had 2 employees that were so bad I left and then went to Lowe's to get my paint where I had no issues. Lowe's was very nice and knew how to give excellent customer service The female's name was Grace and I didn't get the male worker's name. The female talked to me like I was her child and was very rude. I will never go back to this store as I just moved in this location and have spent hundreds of dollars. I can go to a business that does not treat you like a dog. I have noticed the businesses here use a lot of foreigners who have no idea what customer service is and don't care.

obviously they have too much business to worry about you, so go to a local shop where they will appreciate your business.

Guest

Why are you complaining? For a small measuring fee you should have learned a big lesson.

If they can't produce a plan in 3 months how long do you think it would take the to install a kitchen if you purchased it from them?

Find a local cabinet shop and have them plan and install your kitchen. You will get much better service at a comparable price.

Horrible Consumer Experience

The worst shopping experience I have had in my life. Order number 020548****, a fridge was purchased on the 19th of Jan 2019 to be delivered on the 23rd of Jan 2019. The delivery arrived and the delivery folks placed the fridge without installation in my garage as the reason mentioned was that it was snowing with the promise of them coming back to install it in a day or two. After multiple calls with the call centre, my groceries being wasted and agonising waiting they decided to come on the 29th of Jan 2019. Upon arrival the delivery folks mentioned they cannot install but only pick up the old fridge. Once again back to the call centre and got a resolution that the delivery folks would arrive on the 2nd of Feb 2019 to pick up the old fridge and install the new fridge. Today is the 1st of February and I hope and pray the bloody fridge gets delivered tomorrow. After loss of groceries worth of C$300 and the pain of having to buy and use groceries daily, frankly never again will I buy from Home Depot ever again. What a complete waste of time/effort/money and endless heartache.

Botched Kitchen Reno

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

If you are planning to do a renovation with Home Depot I beg you to reconsider. In June I started the process of designing a kitchen with Bloomfield Home Depot, I came to them with the exact models I wanted for appliances and asked them to design a kitchen around those appliances.

The designer took a week or 2 and came up with a design we loved, we were so excited. She did mention the first fridge we picked out was a little bit to big and asked if we could downsize to a slightly smaller fridge. I said yes, we like the design and I said the only condition is I need to see the fridge. She showed it to me on the website as they didn't have it in stock and we agreed it would work for us.

Little did we know that a month and a half later when the appliances were delivered the fridge didn't fit, and not even just a little to big a full 3 inches more in width than she had measured the design to fit along with a good 4 inches to deep and inch to high. Management refused to talk to me even though I kept asking the associated to have one call me over and over. I was nothing but kind but I kept being pawned off to people who couldn't help me other than making me settle on a smaller fridge. A MUCH smaller fridge, I literally have to go down to my basement to get orange juice and milk because I can't fit everything in the new fridge.

After this they lost my range hood, found me one that was damaged, drilled the wrong holes for my island light and made it seem like my fault when I bought the light with the single pendent connection they asked me to, and took 2 additional months to finish my kitchen making my total reno time about 4 months. I pushed now for an additional 2 months to get a settlement for my loses and nothing, they apparently feel that they are not at fault and accommodated me and have pushed me to the side, held me off, or ignored my calls for months and I am seeking legal action at this point. I had to throw away hundreds of dollars of food that went bad in my deep freeze of 4 months, I didn't have a functional kitchen the entire time and had to do my dishes out of my bathtub for 4 freaking months. It is sad that I have not gotten one apology from a manager, its sad that they had shrugged off my problem as oh she just didn't get what she wanted and she's mad as if I don't have a legit case.

I have never been treated so poorly by a company and had so many mistakes made on a renovation project.

The value of my home is affected by this, no family of four can possible function with a fridge 8 cubic feet smaller than the one I initially picked out. I urge you not to support this store as they don't deserve to be in business with this poor customer service.

Your post stinks. Terrible post, just terrible.

If you are going to post on a complaint site take time to tell what your complaint is.

Pissed consumer for some reason requires 50 words to respond to a post but people can post a complaint of less than 10 words that doesn't give anyone an idea of what the problem is. That is terrible, just terrible as well.

I agree with you! If someone is truly dissatisfied with a business, they should have no trouble at all coming up with 50 words to make their complaint.
