ONLY BUY Carpet from Home Depot if you can vacume 4 x's a day!
Apr 15, 2008
Home Depot complaint
We had SEVERAL feet of carpet installed from Home Depot in our home. Within 1 week we noticed a problem...it was molting.

We filed a complaint. 2 "independent testing" companies of theres say nothing is wrong with the carpet that has broken 3 vacumes and continues to cause me and my kids to itch and sneeze.

There was no discloser in the contract saying that we would need to vac 4 x's a day.

5 months later they refuse to refund us; I have to buy a new vac and replace carpet! They are liers and scam atrists.

As a carpet professional, it sounds to me like you purchased an inexpensive poly carpet. As with all poly carpets, it is normal for it to shed for the first nine months. Yes set you vacum to a higher level and vacum it normally.

I would guess that you were looking for a bargain...remember the golden rule...."you get what you paid for."

Well, carpet DOES do that quite a bit in the first 6 months, some more than others, in fact the thicker more expensive carpets do that. I'd love to tell you otherwise. By the way, raise your vac level so it doesn't dig into the fibers... and buy a good brand.
