Just left one of the stores in Pensacola. Was buying downspout spout extenders and screen inserts to go in the downspout exit ports.

Was told that there is no military discount on these as they are home improvement items. The cashier could not explain why, he had just noticed recently that items were being blocked in the computer. I have enjoyed shopping at Home Depot in the past and appreciated the discounts they offered, especially when I had several small repair projects. Now these items would be classified as home improvement items and no discount.

Guess I won't be shopping there any more. Seems like they are just shooting themselves in the foot, especially in this military town.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Location: Pensacola, Florida

I work for Home Depot and the reason that happens is because the vendor or manufacturer of the item does not allow Home Depot to mark down their items for any reason. People don't understand that we do not own every product in the store most of the time the vendors handle their merchandise we just store it and make a percentage off selling it.

Sad. Just sad.

Did you join the military for a 10% discount? You are aware the military is a career choice and no one forced you to join? You're not special. Why do you deserve a 10% discount when doctors, educators, police officers, surgeons, firefighters, dentist, any other productive member of society don't?

GET OVER YOURSELF. My friends in the military think your type is a total disgrace to their profession.

Where do you come off feeling you are entitled to a "military" discount? Is it anywhere in your enlistment or discharge papers that you are entitled to a discount?

I don't think you'll find it there.

Quit feeling so entitled and you will get along a lot better in society. Be grateful when you are offered a deal but don't expect one.

How about Home Depot stops advertising something that isn't true and then using the manufacturer as a scapegoat. How about Home Depot employees getting trained on their corporate policies.

Home Depot sales clerk told me that John Deere doesn't allow military discount. Here is response from HQ saying they do and HD HQ saying they will inform store of their inaccuracy of agreements and policies.

Dear Ms. Burns,

Please accept our humble apology for the misleading information and

quality of customer service you experienced at Home Depot. Due to the

time I didn't contact you via phone.

John Deere does approve military discounts on their lawn mowers.

I will share your information with store management that we may inform our associates in providing accurate information on the products we sell. This issue will be saved under reference number 5416****. If you are in need of further assistance you may reply to this e-mail or contact me at the information below. Your patronage is important to us.

We would never intentionally jeopardize that relationship. Sincerely, Tanisha Webb Resolution Expeditor The Home Depot Store Support Center Customers First ! 2455 Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta, GA 30339 B/3 Phone Number 1-80*-***-**** Ext.
