Feb 5, 2008 Home Depot review |
I came into home depot to buy a sink and toilet for my 1950s' bathroom. Sinks were on display in a variety of styles, with a note that stated basically that matching toilets were available. No sales associate in the departmant to answer questions. The person at the service desk said "I can't help you, I don't have that information." Funny, since I can look that up on my home computer and save gas and money! I'm willing to do my part researching what's available, Shouldn't Home Depot (YOU CAN DO IT WE CAN HELP) be able to help me obtain the materials I need? Too much catering to big contractors who build and work for rich people, and not enough help to me, the single homeowner. Over the life of my home, I'd like to be a regular customer, but it's not happening. This same thing happened before When I tried to find a ceramic soap dish at home depot. I ordered it 4 times, scheduled the repair guy and no one from your store could tell me that it could not, for some wierd reason, be obtained. If you're coming into communities for business, at least leave some mom and pop business alive for the rest of us! By the way, only ONE matching sink and toilet was available on display for cash and carry---costing almost twice as much as anyting else there! Another reason not to buy at your storezmgc!

Who wants a sink that looks like a toilet? Aren't all sinks and toilets white these days? Who cares if the sink is square and the toilet curved? And why do people need to have their hand held for every purchase? And why do they freak out so much because there isn't an available associate standing right there ready to talk them into making a choice? Read a book, read an article, hire a professional but don't expect better service at one store to be better then Walmart service just because you are too dumb to help yourself. Calm down and be a nice person and maybe employees wont avoid you like the plague.

Believe it or not, just cause someone works at a store, doesn't mean they know absolutly everything about every product in the place. I know its a hard concept for some people to get their mind around, but its just a fact that applies to any story. Any time you ask a store employee a question and they can help you out, consider yourself lucky that you're getting their knowledge for $8 or less any hour.
And one more thing, I've never seen the contractors catered too whenever I shop in my local home depots. They don't need catering becuase they actually take the time to figure out what the *** they are doing instead of *** and blaming everyone else.
I always check out in the contractor lanes so I don't have to wait behind dumb bastards like you who would *** about a $1.00 price difference on a $200+ order like it really matters.
