this is what I do not like about homedepot;

computer sytem should not force people to get e gift card even customer is in store. we were told to go to store to get physcal card refund.

when the order is canceled the order should not be wipe out. it should noted cancelled and list the refund method. if we did not get refund, we have way to report it and resolve the issue. I have no idea why I was blocked constantly from internet order.

someone should lift my block and apologize. it is my opinion that all people should able to return the product with valid receipt , block or not.

11/22/2015 we order $200 material on homedepot web site and paid for it.

yesterday, we get a reminder to pick the up. since holiday is coming, we can not do the installing as we expected, so we ask for refund in physical card in store credit. the cashier did something on her computer told us that

it is done. the order is canceled and we can leave. the refund went back to the card... check email, we should get e gift card in a few days.... we can not get physical card for store credit because the way homedepot system is set up. we have concerns that we might lose $200 without picking up our order and gets no refund. so we ask for the possibility getting the materials instead or get the print out of the order. the answer the shocking. The cashier show us the print from the system that our order is wipe out. no trace the amount is order and how much is paid. if we leave now and we did get refund like homedepot said, we have no way to get refund. we ask to talk to manager on duty. Mr. foster said that he is willing to help us. if we want the material today, we need pay again for another $200. he demands the answer right away. we feel seriously bullied. so, I called store manager for help. 10 min later, she answer the phone. mr. forster finally agree to give us the material and ask us to return the egift card when we get it. we have no problem to return the e-gift card when we received it. if we pick up the material, the egift card is not ours to keep. as you know homedepot have computer blocking system. everything needs receipt to return. I can not find the receipt with material. so we ask mr foster for receipt. he said ,"NO". WE are very confused. we paid $200 really money for the material.. why can we get receipt for our purchase. he will not change his mind... so we call store manager again. she said" did mr. foster print out any thing for us?"

we told her no. Finally, mr. foster, ask my id to get me physical card for store credit. I told mr fosster and store mgr, .. if they use my id to get refund, the computer is going to take it as return without receipt and block me for 3 month. I will not able return anything to homedepot with or without receipt. they said I have to give them my id if I want refund. so I did. so I was blocked for 3 more month. after one hour negotiation, I finally get my money back, but I lose my voice, my id blocked 3 more month. mr. foster gave me strange face... at least the cashier gave a bottle of water for my voice and cough. we left the store. we came home and check the email. we got email from homedepot for 10% off coupon. there is no e-giftcard or cancelation. my order is wipe out from website.

we are truely humbled and grateful that store mgr give us our money back in store credit physical card.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $50.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Home Depot Cons: Company response, Subcontractor poor service, Rude manager, Make it difficult for customer get refund.
