We bought a Trane HVAC from Home Depot on July 14th..they contracted out with Advantage Air of Port St. Lucie,Fl. Our unit has been leaking for two months ..we have water damage as well as mold now.

No one will take responsibility for the defective unit and shoddy instillation ( it is well documented0

Trane tells us to call our local dealer

Advantage Air keeps trying to patch a bad unit up

Home Depot keeps giving us the run around

Never again will we use Home Depot..we have been good customers for years and are frankly shocked at the customer service we have received..actually lack of service

customer beware

Thank You,

C Hogue

Trane is the one who should it right to you. I would contact the contractor and show them the poorly installation job they did. I would speak to the supervisor of that install company and settle the differances at once. If that fails, file a claim in the small claims court. Who knows, you could be on Judge Judy amd get paid for it. Sd fsr as the vents go, the orginal builder onf the house is responsible for the duct work throughout the house. Has nothing to do with Trane or Home Depot.

I do not know what kind of run around you have been getting with home depot but it sounds like trane and the installer are the one's giving you the run a round when you purchase a hvac unit from home depot the installer is contacted by home depot that you have made a purchase the installer then gets the unit from trane then when they get the unit from the factory they come out and put it in it is there job to do it right and take care of any damages that they cause not home depot as far as the bbb that is the biggest joke on the face of the planet they only send the business a form letter that they have been contacted it s a waste of time call home depot talk to a manager tell them you need to tak to the district install manger all home depot districts have one it is his job to make sure that these problems are handeled to your satisfaction i work for home depot this is the easy way to get results

Thank You for your suggestions...we have not contacted the BBB yet but I do have photos of water running down my drive way (which Advantage Air patched up and only runs trickeling down my A/C unit now)

I have extensive water damage because it has been leaking for over two months now.

Advantage Air and Home Depot were out to my home this morning taking more test and wanting to do another "patch" job. This is the eighth or ninth time they have been here.

If you bought a new Generator from Home Depot and it was broken...I believe their policy is ..you can return it. They would not have some contractor come out and do several patch jobs .

I believe it is Advantage Air who refuses to replace the defective unit..like I said before ,I called Trane Headquarters and they refused to get involved..they said we had to deal with the local contractor.

FPL and the City inspector found several problems when they came out and inspected..oh by the way...Advantage Air Only put a permit up on the unit last week ( about six weeks late)

Thank You So Very Much For Your Concern And Helpful Suggestions.

They are much appreciated,

Thank You

Who did you give your money to?

And start keeping notes on who and when you spoke to someone.

If you charged it I'd see if you could get the credit card company to stop payment or see if they offer any warranty on your purchase.

Onething you might do is make sure that the installer has and/or pulled a permit.

I'd say if the contractor has been back 2-3 times since the original install I would try to get Home Depot to replace it or send a different contractor out to fix the original work.

If not go the local BBB.I'd also contact Trane and let them know how their product is being serviced by Home Depot and the contractor.

Good Luck
