First of all, GE is the one that handles most of the extended warranty on appliances for the Home Depot. They are not part of the Home Depot. GE can fix any major brand of appliance out there in the market. Also, when you purchased the ESP you should have registered it. Three ways of doing that-1)call the phone number on the ESP pamplet, 2)mail in the pamplet, 3)register the product online. The pamplet has the contact information for repair service. It isn't the responsibilty of home depot to register the product for you. You as a customer aka purchaser of that Maytag fridge, you are responsible for the ESP. So, don't point finger at the depot for your weakness,
